PURPOSE: A roll clearance regulating device which enables a user to repeatedly control intervals between rolls is provided to reduce the repair time of a segment of continuous casting equipment. CONSTITUTION: A roll clearance regulating device comprises close prop units(10,30), an actuator means, and a load cell unit. The close prop unit closely supports rolls(140,150). The actuator means is installed between the close prop units. The actuator means is a hydro-pneumatic cylinder or an electrically driven actuator. The hydro-pneumatic cylinder is driven with an air compressor(52). The electric drive actuator is driven with the power supply unit. The load cell unit is located on one side of the actuator means between the close prop units.
