PURPOSE:To easily remove an image-receiving medium being jammed, by feeding the image-receiving medium and an image-forming medium by a predetermined distance and releasing them from each other, when the image-receiving medium is jammed during forming an image. CONSTITUTION:When a paper jam is detected based on an OFF signal (paper jamming detection signal) supplied from a switch 33 under the condition where an ink 601 is thermally transferred onto a paper P, a main controlling part 100 controls a feeding-controlling part and a thermal transfer ribbon-driving circuit to drive a platen-driving motor 89 and a ribbon-driving motor 90, thereby rotating (a1-a2) a platen 50 in the direction of an arrow to feed the paper P and taking up a thermal transfer ink ribbon 52 by an amount corresponding to the feeding distance of the paper P, followed by stopping a thermal transfer operation. By this, the paper P and the ink ribbon 52 adhered to each other by the ink 601 molted by heating are released from each other. |
