PURPOSE:To display the operation/inoperation of an optical pickup for a light emitting element, by controlling the operation of the light emitting element indicating the position of the optical pickup with a control signal controlling the operation/inoperation of the optical pickup. CONSTITUTION:To an automatic light amount adjusting circuit 11, a control signal holding an H level only at reproduction and an L level in other cases is applied from a terminal 12, a semiconductor laser 10 is operated with a control signal of the H level and the laser 10 is made inoperative with the control signal of the L level. In applying the H level control signal for the operation of the laser 10, a transistor Q is turned on and the light emitting element 14 is lighted. Thus, through the lighting of the element 14, the operation of the laser 10 is discriminated. |
