It is known for the thermal efficiency of a thermal power station block to be increased by combining a gas turbine and a steam turbine. The invention relates to such a combined gas-turbine (hot-air-turbine)/steam-turbine system, in which the atmospherically heated steam generator is connected downstream from the hot-air turbine and in which both the medium of the hot-air turbine as well as the steam generator are heated by means of coal dust. The air heaters of the hot-air turbine are arranged in specific auxiliary chambers of the steam-generator combustion chamber and the heating thereof can be matched to the operating requirements. In the event of disturbances on the gas-turbine side, it is also possible to keep the steam generator in operation and to interrupt completely the heating of the air heaters. The proposal is even suitable for the reequipment of existing steam blocks in order to increase their thermal efficiency. <IMAGE>
