PURPOSE:To prevent falling off of an active material in manufacture of a lead storage battery, by finishing a cutting process before a charge plate, in which paste of the active materal is filled in a lattice body, is dried. CONSTITUTION:Thourgh at cutting a charged plate 1 is pressed to a relatively flat surface 6, here the plate is deformed along protruding parts 5, 5' provided in both sides of a sharp blade 4 along its adapted part, simultaneously paste paper 3 in the bottom side in the drawing is also rolled in such a manner as to envelop an end part of the plate 1 and more completely ensure a holding effect of an active mateial by paste paper 2 in the upper side in the drawing. Here thermohardening resin 8 from a thermohardening resin storage chamber 7 provided in such a manner as to envelop the blade 4 is pressed out from a press outlet 9 to adhere to or infiltrate into an end part of the plate 1 and then hardened at heat drying to prevent both falling off of the active material in the end part of the plate and separation of the papers 2, 3. |
