A method and apparatus for providing balanced stacks of diapers where a series of diapers are advanced toward a drum equipped with an even number of turning devices adapted for vacuum-actuated engagement of the diapers and cam means are associated with the drum for rotating alternate of the devices 90 DEG to the right and the remainder of the devices 90 DEG to the left so that adjacent diapers in the series are disposed 180 DEG to each other.
