PURPOSE:To obtain a photoconductive layer maintaining high photosensitivity and having high resistance by using cadmium sulfide formed on the surface of fine- grained cadmium oxalate as a photoconductive substance to eliminate delicate mixing and difficult kneading with a binder. CONSTITUTION:Laminar cadmium sulfide is formed on the surface of fine- grained cadmium oxalate having 1- several 1mum diameter by reacting the cadmium oxalate with hydrogen sulfide. At this time, by regulating the reaction conditions, the thickness of the surface cadmium sulfide layer is controlled to attain a high resistance value. The photoconductive substance is washed in water, dried, sensitized by calcination, and mixed with a binder. The mixture is applied to a drum, dried, and cured by heating. Only uniform mixing is required during the mixing with the resin binder. |
