The intensity of absorption of EM radiation by a body placed in the path of an infrared source is determined using an infrared source. A liquid flowing in a tube which constitutes the body, and a detector which produces an electrical signal proportional to the luminous intensity received. This signal is amplified and applied to the input of a capacitor. The measurement chain also has an electronic calculator which controls the charge and discharge of the capacitor up to a predefined voltage, computes the number of charges over a given period of time and compares the number obtained with the number in a correspondence table relating to the opacity of the liquid inside the tube. The correspondence table is calibrated for each sample placed in the infrared radiation. The method is partic. intended for the detection of air bubbles in the liquid flowing in the tube of a perfusion pump.
|
