Novel benzenesulfonamide derivatives of formula <CHEM> wherein Q is selected from various five and six membered heterocyclic groups which are optionally substituted; R1 is H. F. Cl, Br, CH3, CF3 or OCH3; R13 is H or CH3; W sec is O or S; and A is a substituted heterocyclic moiety; and their agriculturally suitable salts, exhibit potent herbicidal activity. Some are also of interest as plant growth regulants. The novel compounds may be formulated for use in conventional manner.
