PURPOSE:To prevent a liquid crystal in the inside from leaking to the outside, by sealing an organic sealing agent or the outside circumference of the sealing agent on a dotted line by means of melt-sticking. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower substrates 1, 2 which are provided with electrodes 1a, 2a of a transparent conductive film, and consist of a plastic film are made to adhere through a sealing agent 3, by which a plastic liquid crystal element 4 is prepared, and the outside circumference of this sealing agent 3 is thermally melt-stuck like a dotted line by comb-teeth-like trowels 5, 6. In this case, as for a pitch of the comb-teeth, it is better to use that which is smaller than an interval of electrode terminals 1b, 2b, and there is no hindrance even if upper side and rear side of the the element is pierced by the comb-teeth. Subsequently, the circumference is melt-stuck like a dotted line, and the same effect is obtained by not only thermal melt-sticking but also piercing it mechanically by an ultrasonic wave or a sawing machine, etc. |
