PURPOSE:To save a preparation feed time, by continuously feeding out the following copying paper when the previous copying paper has come out of a cassette, in an electrophotographic copier which feeds copying paper in advance to a carrying roller by a paper feed roller, stops it, and feeds it out by the carrying roller as soon as exposure of an original is started. CONSTITUTION:When a copying button is pushed, copying paper 11, 13 in cassettes 7, 9 is fed to a carrying roller 21 which has stopped, by paper feed rollers 15, 17. When copying paper 7, 9 forms a loop, actuators 195, 203 are pushed, a microswitch 129 is turned on, and paper feed is halted. Start of carrying is detected by a microswitch 131, and thereafter, when it is detected by a microswitch 127 that the copying paper 11 has come out of the cassette 7, the following copying paper is fed out by the paper feed roller 15. Before that time, the paper feed roller 15 is drawn by the copying paper 11 fed by the carrying roller 21 and is slipping. |
