PURPOSE:To prevent such a trouble as sheet edge's being folded, by arranging a baffle roller havong good flexibility at an appropriate position in the transport line of a sheet transport deflecting device of a copying machine etc. and by allowing the transverse force from a guide plate to escape through deformation of the roller itself. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 2 transported by a transport roller 1 is carried by a sheet transport deflecting roller 3 in the direction from A to B, and sent off by another transport roller 5 under guidance of a guide plate 4. The deflecting roller 3 is provided with two or more grooves 31 and an elastic roller 32 and transports the sheet 2 with the deflection angle theta if put in an appropriate position in the sheet transport line. In this case, an equal force 7 is applied to the sheet 2 as the reaction to the force 6 which is applied to the guide plate 4 when the end of the sheet runs against it. When a transverse force is applied to the deflecting roller 3, the elastic roller 32 is deflected to yield and effect to let the force 7 from guide plate 4 escape. By this effect sheets 2 are transported with their end faces put in line with the guide plate 4. |
