<p>PURPOSE:To reduce readout errors of a scanner which reads bar codes optically by causing irradiation light from a light source to be focused through a convex lens, slit of a shielding plate, and spherical lens. CONSTITUTION:The scanner body 1 is formed nearly in a hollow columnar shape and shields a hollow part 2 from external light. The tip of the scanner body 1 is tapered toward the tip in the shape of a frustum of right circular cone and an opening part 3 is formed atop to allow the outward communication of the hollow part through the opening part 3. The sperical lens 4 is fitted in the opening part 3 and a fitting board 5 is provided to the internal circumferential wall of the scanner body 1 behind the hollow part 3 at right angles to the lengthwise direction. In the center of the fitting board 5, a light emitting diode 6 is fitted havig the irradiation surface facing the spherical lens 4.</p> |
