In the case of the firearm, which is constructed as a rifle, the rifle rest has an upper part which is used as a rifle holder. It consists of a retaining head (18) having a cradle-like recess (19) and having a spherical pressure piece. A pear-shaped mounting lug (21), having a reamed hole (22) for retention and latching-in of the spherical pressure piece, is mounted on the rifle, in the bottom. The rifle rest can thus be mounted securely on the rifle, in seconds. The pear-like shape of the mounting lug (21) gives the rifle a large movement capability backwards and forwards in the longitudinal axis. Provided in the lower part of the rifle support is a supporting element (25) having adjustable and interchangeable supporting feet (24) which are supported on a shaft (26), which can rotate continuously on a retaining body (23) transversely with respect to the rifle axis, and are fixed on the retaining body (23) by means of a clamping lever (27). <IMAGE>
