Stop buffer

A hollow stop buffer enclosing the piston rod of a vibration damper for a motor vehicle comprises a bellows of solid, elastomer material, especially rubber. The individual folds have differing forms which can be matched in each case to the required spring characteristic. In addition an inner guide element bearing on the piston rod is provided on each fold which may be formed by a guide knob or a guide ring.
