1310299 Making chipboard J KOSTER [trading as WILHELM MENDE & CO] 1 Dec 1970 [14 July 1970 (3)] 57096/70 Heading B5A A process for the continuous manufacture of chipboard, comprises spreading a layer 6 of chips combined with a binder on to an endless steel band 3 and passing the band around a heated main press roller 8, the band being maintained under tension to compress the layer into consolidated board which is then lead, via an arc 16, to a sheet cutting saw 17. At the layer run-on point or heated pressure roller 7 gauges the thickness of the sheet. The saw 17 is formed by several transversely movable rotary blades 20, each driven by a motor 22, and a clamp 18. (For Figure see next page) |
