<p>Heat treating of sheet-like textile structures in the stiffening thereof by coating (28) with plastic or by bonding with interlinings, uses a continuous dryer (31). The dryer (31) comprises an infrared radiation heating device (37) and a contact heating device (39). The dryer thus enables, in coating, to harden the plastic applied in two phases, firstly to a moisture content of 20-30% and then to a moisture content of 0-12%. In bonding, to harmonise with respect to temperature and tension the sheet- like structures before they are supplied to the contact heating device (39). <IMAGE></p> |
