MITERING METHOD FOR METALLIC MEMBERS

PURPOSE:To join metallic members having a prescribed angle part accurately to a prescribed bending angle by build up welding in cut grooves in producing said metallic members cutting the metallic members supported at the prescribed bending angle along the centerline of the bending angle thereof thereby forming the cut grooves. CONSTITUTION:A blank material for door sashes of vehicles which is beforehand formed to a prescribed cross sectional shape is formed with a Vee notch (d) at the boundary thereof without disconnecting the same to an upper part (a) and a side part (b). The notched edge is bent to mate both parts without any clearance at the butt joint and the material is set on a receiving base. Thereafter, the material is cut on the centerline (l) at an angle 1/2theta the bending angle with a cutter (m) to form a cut groove (f) of a specified width and depth. The build-up produced when the material is bent is removed together. Build-up welding (g) is applied in the groove (f).
