PURPOSE:To obtain a strong coupler for steel plate cells by a method in which a pair of L-shaped coupler metals are welded to the periphery of a steel cell and the coupler metal of arc steel plate is thrust through the coupler metals welded with a reinforcing steel strip between the outside of the tip of each L-shaped coupler metal and the peripheral side of the steel cell. CONSTITUTION:A pair of L-shaped coupler metals 12 are projectionally provided to the periphery of a steel cell 1 in such a way as to extend its straight piece 12b along the diametral direction of the steel cell 1, and a rubber seal 13 is laminated on the inner surface of a hook-like bent piece 12a. Then, a reinforcing steel strip 14 is welded between the outside of the tip of each L-shaped coupler metal 12 and the steel cell 1, and an insert metal 17 is provided on both edges of an arc steel plate 16. The huge steel cell 1 is penetrated into the seabed by a vibro-pile driver, etc., soil and sand are charged into the cell, and while piercing the coupler metal at side end of the arc steel plate 16 into the coupler metal 12 on the periphery of the steel cell 1, the cell 1 is penetrated into the seabed and soil and sand are packed into it. Thus, a dam is constructed. |
