PURPOSE:To produce a good long-sized composite bar stably, by supplying plural dissimilar metallic bars, superposing the same while cleaning the fayed surfaces, and passing the same through rolling rolls coated with a ceramic material to press weld the bars by rolling thereby preventing the seizure thereof to the rolling rolls. CONSTITUTION:Both blank bars 1, 2 of dissimilar metals are supplied continuously, and while the fayed surfaces thereof are cleaned, the bars are superposed and the superposed bars are press welded by rolling simultaneously with rolling rolls 5a, 5b. In this case, the rolls 5a, 5b coated with ceramics 7 consisting of >=1 kind among any of nitrides, carbides, and oxides of metals on the surfaces 6 of the rolls are used. Then, the seizure of the bars 1, 2 in non-lubricated rolling is suppressed, and the good composite bar is stably produced continuously for a long time. |
