The cable end, exchange or repeater station and gas pressure monitor access point is for VG multi pair telecommunications cables. The appts. uses an air pipe from frame termination point inside the cable and extending down to the cable chamber joint. The tube (15) has a valve (25) at the frame termination point (14,22,23) which extends from inside the cable sheath to an external access point at the cable seal (11). The air tube (15) extends through the cable end (10) into the joint (12) in the cable chamber so that air pressure is monitored directly where external cable (13) enters the exchange or repeater station building.
