PURPOSE:To obtain a display device having high resolution and reliability by adding a means for preventing generation of noise by cooling liquid to a display device which generates microfoam in a liquid layer and utilizes the irregular reflection of light by the foam. CONSTITUTION:In order to prevent the generation of noises when the temp. of liquid rises too high in the liquid layer 32[a liquid layer 2 which is foamed 4 by the heat from the heating part of an absorbing layer 1 which evloves heat by absorbing irradiation rays (IR beams 5)]of a display element 31 provided with said layer 1, said layer 2 and a transparent protecting layer (glass plate, etc.) 3, the liquid in, for example, the element 31, is evaporated in an evaporating chamber 33 by using an evacuating means 35, and is circulated in a circulating path 36 provided with a liquefying chamber 34 and is cooled by providing a suitable heat radiating means or a cooling means 37 of Peltier effect. Thus the observation of sharp pictures is made possible by projecting the light 45a from an observing light source 44 reflected 45b from the element 31 to the foam image generated by an IR beam generator 38. |
