PURPOSE:To exactly make recording even on the last one of papers by a method in which in controlling scanning width by the size of a transfer paper on a paper supply tray, control is made in such a way that previous scanning width is continued even after the transfer papers on the paper supply tray are used up. CONSTITUTION:Information in a manuscript 3, stored in a controller 7 consisting of computer, etc., is irradiated in the form of modulated beam by a modulator 8 onto a photo-sensitive drum 11 through a rotary multi-faced mirror 10. In this case, the writing start position at one end of a scanning width W is constantly controlled by a synchronous detector 12 and the other end of the scanning width W is controlled by the controller 7 on the basis of signals from paper size detectors 2a-2e to show the sizes of transfer papers S on a paper supply tray 1. However, even when the last one of the transfer papers S on the paper supply tray 1 is sent out and the detection of the paper size becomes impossible, size detection signal related to the last transfer paper S is held in the controller 7. |
