PURPOSE:To reduce fluctuation of a level, etc., by forming a thin film layer of ferromagnetic metal on a nonmagnetic layer polished on the surface provided on a film base. CONSTITUTION:A nonmagnetic layer 14 of vapor deposited alumnium or the like is formed on a film base 12 of polyester or the like having a surface roughness of about 0.25mum max. height. The surface of this nonmagnetic layer 14 is polished to a surface roughness of about 0.1mum max. height, and then, a thin film 16 of a ferromagnetic metal, such as Co-Ni, is formed by vapor deposition or the like. In addition, plural magnetic or nonmagnetic layers may be formed. |
