The invention relates to a heat exchanger for ventilating equipment. In order to improve the heat exchange, particularly in elongated heat exchangers, it is proposed in order to generate boundary layer separations favourable for this purpose to form at least one of the transfer faces of the heat exchanger entirely or partially into ribs extending essentially transverse to the main flow rib. The preferred construction and arrangement of the ribs are treated, together with the production of the heat exchanger from open profiles, in further claims. <IMAGE>
