<p>A flexible heated hose for transporting molten adhesive from a melter to a dispenser. The hose comprises a Teflon tube (20) contained within stainless steel braided wire (21) and fitted with conventional hydraulic fittings (18,19) at each end. The braided tube is encased with a multiple ply covering which includes electrical heating wires (23, 24) and a temperature sensor (16) adhered between two plies (22, 26) of helically wound fibreglass tape. This covering itself is covered by multiple plies (32, 33) of helically wound, double thickness fibreglass paper between the plies of which there are embedded spiral wound electrical leads (27-31) to the dispenser. The fibreglass paper layer is encased within two layers (34, 35) of helically wound polyester felt, a layer (36) of vinyl tape, and a braided polyester cover (55). Hard molded plastic cuffs (60, 61) are attached to the ends of the hose. The electrical leads extend radially from the hose through holes (63) in the cuffs. Electrical plug-in adapters (14) are attached to the ends of the electrical leads.</p> |
