PURPOSE:In separating a dichlorotoluene isomer mixture through adsorption by the use of a zeolite adsorbent, to separate 2,6-dichlorotoluene as a nonadsorbable component selectively by using TPZ-3 type zeolite as the adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:TPZ-3 type zeolite having a ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 of 30-200 is used as an adsorbent and 2,6-dichlorotoluene(2,6-DCT) which has difficulty in separation by rectification because of approximation of boiling point to those of other isomers is selectively, in high purity and efficiently separated as a nonadsorbable component from a DCT isomer mixture obtained by subjecting toluene to nucleus chlorination, preferably a DCT isomer mixture fraction having about 201 deg.C boiling point obtained by further fractionating and separating the DCT isomer mixture. The adsorption conditions are temperature of room temperature -about 300 deg.C, preferably 150-250 deg.C and pressure of atmospheric pressure -about 50kg/cm<2>, preferably atmospheric pressure -about 30kg/cm<2>. |
