PURPOSE:To accelerate the passing velocity of cooling air and to improve the cooling effect of a stator coil by dividing the vent passage of the coil end of the stator into two segments and ventilating twice a coil end in centripedal and centrifugal directions. CONSTITUTION:A ventilation guide 20 which covers most of the coil end 6 of a stator is constructed of a cylindrical enclosure plate 21 and a disc-shaped partition plate 22. Holes 22a, through which the coil ends 6 are inserted, are opened at an equal interval at the plate 22 in a circumferential direction, and a filler 23 which is made of an insulator is provided in the gap between the hole 22a and the coil 2. Then, part of cooling air which is sucked from a suction port 17 via a fan 16 and the vent duct 15 of the rotor is led to the suction passage 24 outside the guide 20, the coil end 6 is cooled with the cooling air fed to the vent passage 25 inside the guide 20, and the cooling air is exhaused from an exhaust port 18 through the vent hole 5a of the stator clamp 5 and the back of the stator core 2. |
