The invention relates to a holding device for fastening clinkers to a wall on top of a heat-insulating layer, consisting of U-shaped holding-profile sections, the legs of which are prestressed relative to one another and have a length less than the thickness of the clinkers. Spacers corresponding to the thickness of the heat-insulating layer are fastened to the wall vertically with respect to one another at a distance from the clinkers on which the holding-profile sections for receiving the clinkers are fastened, said sections having a length which is sufficient to clamp securely the edge regions of two adjacent clinkers.
