PURPOSE:To reduce fixation time, by forming microcapsules having a core materal consisting mainly of a polar liquid having absorptivity of high frequency energy, and a wall material of a thermosoftenable or thermosublimable resin. CONSTITUTION:A primary liquid dispersion having W/O type is obtained by dissolving 20pts. polystyrene and dispersing 2pts. carbon black in 100pts. methylene chloride, and adding 0.2pt. emulsifier, and 50pts. 20% gum arabic. A 1% aq. soln. of gelatin is added to this dispersion, pH is adjusted to 6, dispersed, and heated to 40 deg.C to evaporate methylene chloride to obtain a microcapsule toner composed of a wall of polystyrene and a self-fixing polar liquid in the inside. A toner having preferable characteristics is obtained by controlling the content of the polar liquid to 50-80wt%. Use of this toner forms a strongly fixed image with a 16cm/sec fixation speed. |
