A cement- or gypsum-based dry mortar containing porous light-weight materials, which contains 0.05-1.0 % by volume, based on the volume of the dry mortar, of a mixture of 60-88 % by weight of a mixture of paraffin hydrocarbons having a chain length of 10 to 20 C atoms and/or of glyceryl esters of higher fatty acids and 40-12 % by weight of surfactants. At least 33-5 % by weight of the surfactants must be amines, amides or ammonium salts. In the process for the preparation of the dry mortar, one of the additives is wet with 0.05-1.0 % by volume, based on the volume of the dry mortar, of a mixture of 60-88 % by weight of a mixture of paraffin hydrocarbons having a chain length of 10 to 20 C atoms and/or of glyceryl esters of higher fatty acids and 40-12 % by weight of surfactants, prior to mixing with the binders. The dry mortar obtained exhibits no separation or only slight separation.
