A roof covering consisting of prefabricated elements. It comprises panels (20, Fig. 1), each containing an insulating layer (2) and a covering layer (3) arranged above the insulating layer and made of non-crush material. The covering layer (3) is bent downwards at the edges (6) of the panels (20). Joints (9) situated perpendicularly to the roof surface are left between the panels (20). Joints (10) extending in the direction of the roof surface are left between each panel (20) and the supporting closed substructure (8). These joints (9, 10) are filled with a sealing compound. Spacing blocks (7), which can also be composed of a heat-insulating material can be inserted between the panels (20). The underside of the panels can be covered with an aluminium foil (1), whereas the upper side can be provided with an adhesive layer (4) and covered with mineral material (5).
