<p>The device for measuring the temperature and/or sampling a bath of liquid steel is in a converter of the type in which the charging, the casting and the skimming take place on the same side. With a view to limiting the bulk in height, the retort (1) has an orifice (4) made in its wall in an oblique direction, on the side away from that which is wetted by the liquid, and the said device comprises a pole (26) passing through the orifice (4), the end of the said pole being equipped with a cartridge (27) for measuring temperature and/or taking samples, and a system for handling the pole (26) for introducing it into the retort (1), removing it therefrom and bringing it into a position for replacement of the cartridge (27) before carrying out a new operation. <IMAGE></p> |
