PURPOSE:To permit formation of high-quality image by forming a uniformly thin layer of nonmagnetic toner, on the surface of a carrying body for development, placing said carrying body so as to face an image carrying body and developing the image. CONSTITUTION:Two components developer 12 is attracted magnetically by a magnet roll 10, and are regulated by the clearance (a) between a doctor blade 13 and a magnet roll 10 so that a magnetic brush 14 of uniform tufts is formed by the clockwise rotation of the roll 10. A developing sleeve roll 11 rotates clockwise and faces to the roll 10 at a spacing (b). In the part where both rolls 11 and 10 are in extreme proximity, the rolls contact with the brush 14, thereby forming a thin nonmagnetic toner layer 15 on the sleeve 11. The layer 15 is supplied to a developing section by the rotation of the roll 11. In this stage of development, the roll 11 is charged to prescribed potential by a biasing power source 16, whereby desired image quality is obtained. |
