Water-soluble monoazo compounds corresponding to the general formula (1) in which : see diagramm : EP0078024,P21,F1 R**1 is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group or a chlorine atom ; R**2 is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a lower alkoxy group ; R**3 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group which can be substituted by a hydroxy group, a lower alkanoylamino group, a sulfato group, a carboxy group or a sulfo group ; R is a hydrogen atom, the sulfomethyl group, the carbamoyl group, the cyano group or the sulfo group ; D is the m- or p-phenylene radical which are substituted by one or two sulfo groups or by one or two sulfo groups and one lower alkyl group ; X is a monosulfophenoxy group ; Y is the vinyl group, or an ethyl group which, in the beta-position, contains a radical capable of being eliminated under alkaline conditions as an anion ; the formula moieties R**1, R**2, R**3 and R have meanings which are identical to or different from one another. |
