PURPOSE:To detect the amount of the deflection quantitatively, by providing measuring poles, which are arranged in parallel with the axial center of the structure, connecting one end of each pole to the structure, providing retaining members which face the other end with a minute gap, and regarding the amount of the deflection of a leg as the amount of the deflection of the pole. CONSTITUTION:The upper ends of the two upper and lower measuring poles 3 are fixed to the leg 1 through four fixing members 4, and arranged on the same axis of the axial center 2. The lower end of each pole becomes a slidable free end with respect to a ring member 5a at the tip of each retaining member 5. Each pole 3 is attached to the leg 1. It is considered that the pole 3 is deflected by the same amount of the deflection of the leg 1. In order to detect the amount of the deflection, a sensor 6 is provided on each pole 3. The signals from strain gauges attached to the two upper and lower poles 3 and 3 are inputted to an operator of a monitor device at a remote position through an amplifier. The output of the operator is sent to a cathode ray tube and a warning device. By this simple means, the amount of the deflection of e.g. the legs and the like of an off-shore working platform can be quantitatively detected. |
