The present invention relates to a drop protection 10 for sliding gates 1 and similar arrangements 1 which are movable along a guide track arrangement 8 extending along the gate opening and situated on each side edge of the gate, the movable gate 1 supporting a roller member 20 which cooperates with the track arrangement 8 and which is connected to a carrier device 13 included in a centrifugally acting activation device 12. The invention provides a drop protection 10 which is effectively activated and quickly locks the gate 1 when there is a risk of the latter dropping, and it prevents the gate 1 from dropping. This is made possible by the fact that said centrifugally acting activation device 12 includes a carrier device 13 which is connected via a shaft 15 to said roller member 20, and which comprises a number of bodies which can cooperate with a lock catch 14 included in the activation device 12, relative to which lock catch 14 said bodies can rotate, and which is coupled via a connection 22 to a catch element 26 intended to prevent dropping of the gate, said carrier device 13 being designed so that, at a predetermined normal closing speed of the gate 1, it is kept in an inactive position and, if said speed is exceeded, it is allowed to activate a catch element 26 to be moved to a locking position cooperating with said track arrangement 8 and counter to the action of a counter-pressure wheel 29 which is connected to the gate 1 and can cooperate with the guide track arrangement 8, which counter-pressure wheel 29 is designed to bear against and cooperate with a track surface 9C which is directed away from the track arrangement surface 28 with which the catch element 26 and the roller element 20 are intended to cooperate, to lock the gate 1 to the track arrangement 8 through the clamping action between said catch element 26 and counter-pressure wheel 29 with the guide track arrangement 8 and prevent dropping of the gate. <IMAGE> |
