PURPOSE:To obtain a gasoline of good quality, having a high octane number, and containing a low content of durene and hexamethylbenzene, by bringing a methanol raw material into contact with a specific aluminosilicate zeolite catalyst having large crystallites under converting conditions. CONSTITUTION:A methanol raw material is brought into contact with a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite catalyst, having 0.1-100mum crystallite diameter, and obtained by forming a mixture consisting of alumina, silica, an alkaline metallic oxide and water at the following molar ratios of the oxides: Al2O3/SiO2=0- 0.2, H2O/SiO2=5-200 and M/SiO2=0.01-3.0 (M is an alkali metalli ion), separating a gel from the mixture, adding water and a tetraalkylammonium cation to the resultant gel at the following molar ratios based on the amount of the charged silica: H2O/SiO2=5-200, R4NX/SiO2=0.001-1.0 (R is 2-5C alkyl; X is halogen or OH), keeping the mixture under crystallizing conditions, and recovering the crystals to give the aimed gasoline. |
