PURPOSE:To decrease the number of the parts of a multi-cavity type cylstron, and reduce the number of the processes by partially tightening the connection between a cavity-enclosing case and each drift tube, and positioning the gaps between drift tubes by means of a cold test. CONSTITUTION:Punching holes 10, which are the characteristic of this intention, are provided on several parts of a drift tube 2'', which are fitted into a cavity- enclosing case 1, in such a manner that the holes 10 are arranged along the circumference of the tube 2'' at equal intervals. Due to the holes 10, the outer diameter of the drift tube 2'' is partially enlarged, and the connection between the tube 2'' and the case 1 becomes tight. Then, centering of the drift tube 2'' is carried out thrugh a jig 6, and the drift tube 2'' is driven in by means of a jig 11 while measuring the resonance frequency of the cavity by a cold test until the resonance frequency becomes the optimum value. Then, other drift tubes 2'' are positioned in the same manner as above. After that, brazings are performed, with the jig 6 inserted in the drift tubes 2'', thereby manufacturing a resonance cavity of a multi-cavity type clystron. |
