The invention relates to a method for filling a silo with this bulk material which is fed in by means of a pump motor which is to be automatically switched off when the maximum filling level is reached. In this arrangement, the engine of the motor vehicle by means of which the bulk material is fed in can serve as a drive element for the pump motor and the pneumatic brake circuit of the motor vehicle which is needed to brake the pump motor can be actuated by silo weighing means which means consist of mutually connected hydraulic cylinders, the circuit of which contains a manometer.
