In the case of an electromotive servo brake system the electric motor is switched on by way of a switching device coupled to an accelerator pedal and switched off by way of a switching device operating as a function of the speed of travel. The electric motor is therefore switched on only when its torque is needed to supplement the braking force applied by the driver.
