Appts as in the parent patent, for producing hot gas, which comprises a guide duct with a centrally heated mounted gas burner, an ignition unit and an axial blower mounted behind the burner, aligned with it and discharging directly towards it, is improved by provision of a symmetrical, central disc mounted transversely in the duct, just downstream of the axial blower. The dia. of this disc is approx. equal to that of the hub of the axial blower, i.e. 2/3 of the dia. of the guide tube. This arrangement prevents a reverse flow along a boundary layer in the gas which could otherwise result in hot gas reaching the blower windings.
