A single-face knitted fabric is produced on each section of a double-section knitting machine, and these are connected to one another by means of pile threads. Two plush fabrics are obtained as a result of a subsequent cutting of the pile threads. A device, by which the knitted fabric consisting of two single-face knitted fabrics connected by pile threads can be produced, is characterised in that on each section there is an additional thread guide, and these serve for producing the two single-face knitted fabrics on the rib-needle section and on the cylinder-needle section respectively.
