<p>PURPOSE:To largely improve the efficiency of recovering a cutting oil of a lathe by a very simple method with no said oil flowing out in a machine bench, bed and the like. CONSTITUTION:A bed 11 is covered by means of an elastic cover 17 provided for covering the whole machine frame of an automatic lathe, and cutting oil 21 is jetted from a nozzle to wash away chips 19 piled on the cover. A drain groove 25 is reduced in sectional area to 1/4 of the same in the past, and a drain board 13 is buried in a vertical section on which the cutting oil 21 falls with the chips 19. This largely reduces the possibility of attenuation in rigidity of the bed, and may lower not only the height of the whole bed but also the center of gravity of the whole machine, precision of the lathe thus being improved.</p> |
