PURPOSE:To synthesize highly active catalysts with ease and good reproducibility by constituting a titled catalyst for synthesis consisting of lower alcohol and dialkyl ether as raw materials of smectite interposed with SiO2 among layers. CONSTITUTION:This catalyst is a porous crystalline catalyst which uses smectite as a host compd. and is interposed with SiO2 as a guest compd. among the layers thereof. In order to prepare said catalyst, an aq. soln. of silicon ion donators is acted in smectite or a material consisting essentially of the same to exchange M<+> with Si<+> as shown by the formula (M<+> is ion exchangeable cations contained in smectite, which are alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, etc., L<-> is macro-anion layers of laminar particles constituting smectite, nH2O is interlayer water, X<-> is org. and inorg. anions, lH2O is water in the aq. soln., l, m, n are arbitrary positive integers). |
