PURPOSE:To obtain a fluorescent lamp with no degradation of the luminous output by containing the phosphor sintered in the reducing atmosphere and by sintering a phosphor film while flowing a gas primarily made of rare gases and/ or nitrogen and containing 30% or less, by volume, of oxygen in a glass bulb. CONSTITUTION:Oxygen was added by varying its percentage, by volume, to rare gases such as neon, krypton, xenon, etc. except argon and their mixture for testing. As a result, a fluorescent lamp emitting a high initial luminous flux and having an excellent lumen maintenance factor was obtained when a gas primarily made of rare gases and/or nitrogen and containing 30% or less, by volume, of oxygen was used as a flowing gas compared with other cases in which oxygen of 20%, by volume plus argon, or oxygen only, or no flowing gas at all was used in sintering. |
