Device for assembling and/or machining hollow workpieces, in which the workpiece is held on a horizontal arm rotatable about its longitudinal axis, the rotary arm is designed as a telescopic arm consisting of a frame tube and a telescopic tube, and one bracket each for a clamping device is fastened to the frame tube and the telescopic tube. The clamping device is formed by means of a clamping rail, actuated by means of hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders and adjustable perpendicularly to the axial plane, and a counter-bearing rail held in the opposite direction, by means of which the workpiece is held by spreading.
