Fine grain ores are sintered on equipment comprising grids for the material which are fired together with the material from above, pref. by a gas heated or other firing device, and held under vacuum from below by fresh air sucked through the material to be sintered, whilst the ready sintered cake is ejected. The grids are stationary whereas the charge and the firing means move over the grid. Specifically, the grids are ring-shaped and material and firing means travel concentrically over them. |
