[Also in Division F1] A pneumatically actuated piston 5 movable in a cylinder 1 has a chamber therein sealed by a diaphragm 15 and divided into two spaces A, B by a fixed piston 12 having a calibrated orifice 16, whereby liquid filling the spaces A, B passes from the contracting to the expanding space through the orifice 16 to thereby damp the piston movement. The piston has an output rod 8 passing through an opening 10 in the cylinder 1 and is moved in one direction or the other by pneumatic fluid supplied through either a port 6 or a port 7. The periphery of the diaphragm 15 is secured to the piston 5 and the centre is clamped between the fixed piston 12 and a cylinder cover 2. |
