PURPOSE:To prevent heat buckling by measuring the temp., tension and the difference in the temp. in the width direction of a plate material to be controlled and making it possible to foresee the generation of the heat buckling. CONSTITUTION:The temp. To, tension zetaA, difference DELTAT in the temp. in the width direction of a plate material 1 to be controlled are detected with a temp. detector 2, a tension meter 5 and a temp. detector 7. The detected values are applied respectively to the input channels 2, 4, 3 of the AD converter of a heat buckling detector 4. The critical tension zetaC for het buckling is determined in accordance with the To and DELTAT by a detector 4. The zetaC and zetaA are compared and when the zetaA is larger than the prescribed value zetaC, a signal for foreseeing the generation of heat buckling is generated. Thus the line speed is decreased automatically or artificially by this signal, whereby the heat buckling is prevented. |
